I recently had the pleasure of dining at Itihaas Randwick, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. This is modern Indian dining done right. The atmosphere is welcoming and stylish—a perfect setting for a relaxed dinner. The service was outstanding; our waitress was attentive, friendly, and offered wonderful suggestions on the menu. But the food is the true star. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic, vibrant flavour, clearly prepared with high-quality ingredients and skill. The Butter Chicken was rich and creamy, easily one of the best I’ve ever had, and the Garlic Naan was light, fluffy, and perfect for soaking up the delicious sauces. Lovely food and beautifully presented. The mains have a decent amount of spice that is sometimes lacking in other Indian restaurants. Service was a little slow between entrees and mains and that would be my only gripe. Itihaas is a nice addition to Randwick’s restaurants and I would recommend it. More

We are local and decided to give this a try - such a pleasant surprise. The menu was very interesting and everything we tried was super delicious. I can’t say we will visit again. Nice new place, not so expensive, well presented. However food is bland/water down flavours and missing the herbs/ spices /aroma you get with good authentic Indian food. Unfortunately we also found “hair” in our rice ;(. More

With plenty of free parking just around the corner, one of Randwick’s best Indian restaurants – Itihaas Randwick – offers fine Indian delights in a spacious and inviting setting with great tables and comfortable chairs. This is a busy but not noisy place. The responsive and pleasant staff served a little starter – “on the house” while inspecting the lavish menu. One of my favourite Indian dishes is the exquisitely cooked, Paneer-E-Palak. It came with cottage cheese cooked in garlic, onion masala and English spinach. Extremely delightful. An all-time favourite, eaten daily in India as well as Sydney is beef, lamb or, as in our case, chicken Biryani. It has layers of cooked chicken and comes with rice, fresh mix of herbs garnished with caramelised onions. It is basically a rice and chicken dish. As side dishes, we enjoyed cheese and garlic Naan and Peshwari Naan, Naan bread with coconut, red cherries & dry fruits. While Itihaas is certainly not the cheapest, Itihaas is clearly one of the better Indian restaurants. On a range from “forget this”, to “it was okay”, to “let’s go again”, Itihaas is a ‘let’s go again’ and soon!
